Sophie Carpenter (MBCAP) is a registered person-centred counsellor who has dedicated her career to working with people who are vulnerable due to age or mental health conditions. She has worked as a carer, support assistant, support worker and wellbeing coordinator. Sophie adored her role as wellbeing coordinator and only left to train as a counsellor after realising that many people she worked with benefitted from talking to someone in depth about their thoughts, feelings and life experience. Sophie understood that there was a real lack of support and training within the area of person-centred care. Sophie wanted to offer more, she trained at South Coast Wellbeing and Training and completed her placement hours at ST Wilfrid's Hospice as a bereavement counsellor. Once qualified Sophie went straight into a Masters Degree in her specialist area of Dementia Studies.

Sophie enjoys working with adults of all ages within counselling and also offering her experience and skills as an individual wellbeing co-ordinator.

Sophie is a mum of three, a dog mum and lives with her partner Graeme in Horam.
